Running

My first marathon: ING Hartford  marathon on October 12, 2013.

Here are some of the resources I use:
Runners world: one of the most popular one among runners. http://www.runnersworld.com/
I follow two subreddits in www.reddit.com.
r/running  http://www.reddit.com/r/running
and r/advancedrunning http://www.reddit.com/r/advancedrunning

I followed marathon rookie website (http://www.marathonrookie.com)  for my marathon training. But I am planning to go with HalHigdon (http://www.halhigdon.com) from now on as it is the most popular training among armature runners

I used runstasticpro (for ios) and runkeeper (for android) apps to track my running throughout my training. However both have noticeable errors. Sometimes they will drive you crazy and urge you to buy a garmin!

Although I did not use that much, route loop offers free custom routes for your running given your location and desired distance (http://www.routeloops.com/)

If you are around UCONN, following links gives you running loops around campus. I did not use any of them. But most of my runs covered some part of the loops one way or other.

One/two mile loops (http://worklife.uconn.edu/docs/just_move_walking_map.pdf)
three mile loop (http://worklife.uconn.edu/docs/three_mile_map.pdf)
three and a half mile loop (http://worklife.uconn.edu/docs/threeandhalf_mile_map.pdf)
five mile loop (http://worklife.uconn.edu/docs/JUSTMOVE_5milemap.pdf)

People also use mapmyrun (http://www.mapmyrun.com/) for routes and logging.

Happy running!
